2009 Associated Builders and Contractors  of Oklahoma (AGC) Build Oklahoma Award Recipient.

This facility will serve its community and area visitors as the new home of the GRDA and the Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce offices.  The beautifully designed building rests ona  two-acre bluff overlooking  Grand Lake and the historic Pensacola Dam.

The 16,422 square foot facility (below) consists of a state-of-the-art water research lab, community auditorium, video viewing area, historical exhibits, a mezzaninne with a conference room, as well as several additional conference rooms.

Aside from the physical features and amenities that the facility provides to the community, the facility enables GRDA to have  a physical presence on the lake for the first time in its history.
LANGSTON UNIVERSITY
Student Services Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma

2009 Associated Builders and Contractors  of Oklahoma Excellence in Construction Award Recipient ($5-10M Institutional Category)

Langston University finally received its own home in Tulsa after thirty years of renting and sharing space with Oklahoma State University (OSU).  The new campus is located on 914 North Greenwood Avenue, which is not far from the University of Oklahoma, where Langston’s nursing program still remains.  The new building will help free up space that OSU can now use for additional classrooms and faculty offices.  At the University’s ribbon cutting, Langston president JoAnn Haysbert said,

“This campus and our drive to develop it demonstrates Langston University’s commitment to the Tulsa community (Tulsa World, March 2009).”

This project is a part of Vision 2025, a series of projects financed by the Tulsa County sales tax initiative.

The 33,273 square feet project (pictured below) features a structural steel building with a brick and cast stone exterior.  The project was completed on time and on budget, and opened its doors to Langston students on March 10, 2009.
BACK ALLEY BLUES & BBQ
Retail Environment Design and Construction, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Among the nine newly established businesses by The Engine Room Creative's CEO, Blake Ewing, was Back Alley Blues & BBQ.  All nine were started in the span of one year and the Memphis style blues and BBQ joint was one of three under construction.

Mid-tenant build-out, worked alongside the Construction Administrator and Project Manager reviewing Construction Documents (CD's), ensuring changes were recorded, the finish schedule was updated and proper fixtures, furnishings and equipment (FF&E) were selected in order to meet code requirements.

To maintain brand integrity from the logo through the retail environment, collateral, website, social media accounts and even the air waves, we infused the culture of Memphis in every sensory aspect of communication.  Located in Tulsa’s Blue Dome District, the eatery now "serves as Downtown’s only BBQ restaurant and blues venue, celebrating the most rockin’ part of America’s heritage with slow-smoked BBQ and seriously good music".
